Third Historical Archaeology Conference of the Upper Midwest

HACUM 3 has been scheduled for April 4-5, 1997, once again in Red Wing, Minnesot
a. The conference will  again feature Mr. George Miller's historic ceramic works
hop on Friday (we will pray for his good health this time!) with a keynote lectu
re in the evening.  Papers addressing any aspect of historical archaeology and/o
r material culture in the Upper Midwest, broadly defined, are welcome for presen
tation on Saturday. The Council for Minnesota Archaeology will co-sponsor a pane
l of papers addressing the archaeological aspects of any of the historic context
s developed by the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office.  Please contact
 John McCarthy as soon as possible if interested in presenting a paper as part o
f this panel.
 
Deadline for proposals is February 15, 1997. Proposals in hard copy and on IBM f
ormat disk (Word [doc], Text [txt], or Rich File Text [rft] preferred) with lett
er committing to the proceedings volume to HACUM 3, c/o John P. McCarthy, Instit
