It has just come to my attention that this week has been designated
NATIONAL PRIVY DIGGING WEEK by the Public Library District of Prospect
Heights, Illinois.
 
This is our great opportunity!  If every one of the 3000 members of the SHA
would run out and dig a privy before the end of the week, we would have the
beginning of a splendid data base.  And if we would all do the same every
year during NPD WEEK, then in ten years we would have data from 30,000
privies--a prospect awesome to contemplate.
