<< In light of Bob Schuyler's recent encouragement of all qualified
Society for Historical Archaeologists (SHA) members to join the
Register of Professional Archaeologists, it may be helpful for
HISTARCH subscribers to know how you may apply. The brief application
form and description of qualification standards can be downloaded from
the SHA Web page <www.sha.org>. You will note that the $35
application fee has been waived through March 31, 1999. Once
accepted, annual registration fees for members of either sponsoring
organization (the SHA and the Society for American Archaeology) will
be $45, which is a substantial discount from the fees that will be
charged of registrants unaffiliated with the Register sponsors. >>
Vergil. How does this relate to people who were SOPA members and paid their
dues in November, 1997 for the 1998 year? Does it mean that those people pay
$45 in November, 1998 for the 1999 year?
