Thanks for the responses. As Joe Anderson says

I wasn't particularly worried about it because our bees haven't shown any
interest in them (only the bumblebees seem to like the rhododendron in the
front yard). I was just curious as to what would make the honey poisonous,
and why a book by the National Audubon Society would have included such a
blanket statement.
Perhaps I need to have a word with the book's editor...:)
