When I was young (a very long time ago, before modern pesticides, and in
the Great Depression), we fumigated our house with burning sulpher
periodically to eliminate bed bugs (which nearly everyone had in those days
and under those circumstances). It can't have been too bad, healthwise ---
I am still alive!
