I spread out the cappings on a tarp in the woods and let the bees clean out
the honey (and, it seems, alot of the junk). I am left with whistle-clean,
dry wax flakes. These I then place in a corning glass casserole in my
microwave and heat on high until the wax is melted. This is then strained
through a nylon stocking and poured into waxed paper cups. When the wax has
hardened, the paper of the cups peels right off. So, I end up with a whole
boxful of little 4 oz. wax "bucket" shapes. If there are imperfections on
the bottom of the shapes, they can be sliced off, the wax remelted and
re-strained and almost perfect shapes prepared for entering in the fair,
candles, hand creams, lip balms, you name it!
