I certainly do not have any experience with AHB as I mentioned. But in one
of the major US journals I read about strains of AHB which are comparable in
handling traits, to Europeanized bees. With such hives manipulations to
"fix" these traits should be possible.
The reason the AHB drones get to the queens most often, is because they fly
earlier than do EHB. That is why I mentioned the early mating characteristic
specifically in my post.
In any case I am just interested in the possibility. It seems to me that it
may have some complications, but would be quite possible. Raising the
virgins in EHB colonies, might be one possiblity.
