Hi Marti, Anita and Everybody,

The owner of the Hotel Plaza Caribe is giving me a six-room building
on the hotel's property (across the street from Cancun's main bus
terminal) to house such a library. Although not a lending library,
it will be open to all, and has a wall facing the outside street
where a second door can be added. The location promises to be a
better than expected start.

Allow me to ask anyone considering sending any books or magazines
(Spanish very welcome too) related to the anthropology, archaeology,
geography, history (both political and natural), environment
(including marine) of the area: El Mayab to precede the sending via
normal parcel post with a short e-mail descibing the package the
package and its contents. Sorry I can't compensate anyone for even
the post, but I will with an acknowledgement of reciept.

The address is:

John Pastore
c/o Hotel Plaza Caribe
Avenida Uxmal con Tulum Cancun,
Quintana Roo Mexico
77500

If you or anyone else has any ideas as to a name for such a library,
I'd like to hear from you. Right now I'm thinking "El Centro de
Aprendizaje de Amistad", the Freindship Learning Center.

The first book and/or magazine to arrive (parcel post please) will
be enshrined.
