Oh Yeah- The roundtable luncheon thing--
 
I have sent two emails and one phone call with no response -- yet!! But I
will keep at it.
 
I just read your "In La Soufriere's Shadow" article. The ceramic assemblage
sounds really interesting. As you may (or not) recall- I am working at
London Town- a colonial seaport founded in 1684. We have recently completed
excavation of one half of a tavern cellar and we have a wonderful
assemblage of tin glaze- or delft- which is very similiar to the ones shown
in your report- the rim decoration, blue stripe, is almost identical. We
have a solid context which dates our tin glaze to 1720-1730. We also have
an interesting maritime twist- in that we found a set of three (so far) tin
glaze plates with mermaids on them.
