LECTURER IN ARCHAEOLOGY
CULTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT
(3 - 5 year Convertible)
 
$44 802 - $53 076 pa
 
Ref  97202        The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching
Australian Cultural Heritage Management and contributing to the North
American Historical Archaeology components of the Bachelor of Archaeology
degree program and BA/BSc major sequence in Archaeology.  A sound knowledge
of Australian Archaeology is required to make a significant contribution to
field methods and other areas of undergraduate and postgraduate
teaching/supervision.  The appointee will be experienced in tertiary
teaching, active in research and have a strong understanding of Australian
Cultural Heritage Management legislation and its implementation.  Available
from mid April 1998, for three years with possible extension for two
additional years, the position is convertible.
 
Essential criteria include a PhD or equivalent higher degree of relevance
to Archaeological Cultural Heritage Management; demonstrated experience in
prehistoric/historical Cultural Heritage Management, related field work and
post-excavation analysis and a capacity to liaise with a range of
organisations to encourage employment opportunities for graduates.
