Just wanted to thank Peter Bell and Timothy J. Scarett for their insight
into brickmaking.  I appreciate both responses to my inquiry and especially
Timothy's off-line suggestions on what other clues I should look for.    I
don't suppose either of you could suggest a published source I could cite 
about these quantity marks ?
