Does anyone have info (references) on stoneware/metal churns re. period of
use, places of manufacture, etc.? We have an iron churn (?).
It has two bale-type handles that may have served, with a mechanism on the
stone ware lid, to both seal the container and keep it in the iron bucket
while the bucket and stoneware container were turned by means of a crank
handle. A more common, wooden sided, version of an agitatorless churn
appears in turn of the century catalogs, but can't find this type ...

Any help or leads will be appreciated...
