Ms. Abell:

Several years ago, I did some faunal analyses on materials recovered from
19th century wells which had been uncovered and excavated in the course
of the Pittsburgh Light Rail Transit project. My report, and presumably
the archaeological reports, should be available from the University of
Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, despite innumerable promises to the
contrary, these reports were never published (to the best of my knowledge
anyway) and I can no longer seem to find the original manuscript of my
own report.

I would be interested in hearing about what you found in your excavations.
