Reading bee books is ok, but even if you find
some bees that do read books, they probably
went to a different library from yours.
....Dont forget videos, your 12yr old will
like more than old fashioned reading.
Some libraries have good selection. Dont
forget schools have video libraries also.
....You wrote "transferred to new hive"
actually you meant put in a new box.
Bees can be very self sufficient and can
survive very well without benefit of the
beekeeper's meddling.  The big problem in
the xfr from old to new will be propolis.
Actually 8yrs worth. So be prepared, probably
best to wait for very warm weather.
....Getting started in GA, (or anywhere)
I strongly advise connecting with local
bee club. They have scoop on local flora,
conditions, etc, somebody always has extra
equipment at bargain prices (never buy at
full retail!) and always glad to talk bees,
(most of their family has heard all their
bee stores already) and you get free advise!

Univ of GA, 404-542-1765. Depending on your
location to which border, Fla has 24 local
clubs, SC has 10 or 12, and NC has about 50.

for queens, bees, and new supplies, his

....The NC State Beekeepers Assoc will hold
a spring meeting in Raleigh on March 2 & 3rd.
