ARCHAEOLOGIST
American Chestnut Land Trust
Calvert County, Maryland
The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT) is extending the search for an
archaeologist to conduct phase I survey in the Parkers Creek Watershed on the
western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County, Maryland. The survey
project, which begins in December 1997 is supported by a grant from the
Maryland Historical Trust in the Maryland Department of Housing and Community
Development. The survey results will assist the land trust and local
government in appropriate management of the watershed and its diverse cultural
and natural resources.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to conduct
archaeological investigation, experience in directing and supervising
field crew, and competence in historic and prehistoric artifact
identification. The successful applicant must possess good research and
report-writing skills and should have experience working with volunteers.
