Anita, CD-ROM is a great idea, and that's why, last year, my
associates and I here at VCU began to prepare the report on 11 years
of excavation at Curles Plantation on CD-ROM. My plan is this: to
prepare an interpretive volume with appeal beyond the audience of
historical archaeologists, and an optional CD-ROM with all the
inventories, harris matrix, feature descriptions, and tons of
illustrations of excavation and artifacts. My hope is that a
publisher will produce both the volume and a "professional" edition
that includes the CD. If the publisher only wants to do a book, I'll
include an address from which the CD can be ordered. On the other
hand, maybe I should just put up a Curles Plantation home page on the
web....

Will wonders never cease.
