Sorry...this has been cross-posted....

Hi all...

I'm doing some background work on the history of higher ed in the U.S. and
I haven't been able to find much (anything?) on the presence of
institutions of Higher Ed in early Spanish America...is this because there
weren't any? I'm interested in looking for Spanish influences on our
system of higher ed. I would appreciate any leads....(and I do read
spanish!)

Thanks
