To the List,
The number of replies I have received regarding "Nuxated Iron" has
actually caught me by surprise. People have spread my message to other
individuals and entire lists, and I have received messages literally from
around the globe. In particular, I would like to thank Charles Ellenbaum,
Doreen Cooper, Kathy McQuade-Sedler, Elliot Richmond, Eben Cooper,
Catherine Sullivan, and Dave McAuslan for their time and efforts.
Essentially, I have found the answer to the "nuxated" query: the 1922
Mongomery Ward catalog (p.388) has "Nuxated Iron" under "Tonics":
"Nuxated Iron. The valuable properties possessed by this product
stimulate the production of red blood corpuscles, increase nerve force,
generally strengthen and add endurance." [then shipping and price]. Most
replies suggested a patent/prescription medicine; they were correct.
Thanks to all once again.
