Bishop Museum, the State Museum of Natural and Cultural History, is seeking
to hire a staff  archaeologist to work on Cultural Resource Management (CRM)
projects.  Minimum requirements include: M.A. in archaeology or
anthropology; three years of experience as a supervisor/director on a
variety of field projects; strong research and writing skills; experience in
write-up of investigations for CRM reports and/or publication; and
demonstrated project management skills, including meeting schedule and
budget requirements.  Ability to work as a member of a team important.
Speciality in Historic Archaeology/Architecture preferred and a publication
record desired; will consider other specializations that complement those of
the existing staff.  Experience/interest in Pacific archaeology valuable.

by Jan 21, 1997.   Position begins March 10, 1997 and is expected to last a
