Steve--I'm not familiar with Lancaster pottery, but I do know that potters in
England and the US were experimenting with various leadless or reduced lead
glazes around the turn of the 18th century, and that
borax/alkaline/feldspathic glazes made their appearance around then. Local
sources might be your best bet for specifics. Carl Steen
