Check out "Silver in the Fur Trade" Martha Wilson Hamilton and "The Covenant
Chain" pub. National Museum of Man.  these give good background info on
trade silver and medals, who made them, and how they were used.  However,
the closest thing to what you describe is the Quaker "Society of Freinds"
1757 medal.  Good luck
