>Three artifacts were stolen from the museum at the Santa Ysabel Chapel,
Santa Ysabel, CA. The museum is normally unlocked and unattended. All
items were taken from the glass display case. The three items are rare and
highly valued. The following descriptions of the items were provided by the
San Diego County Sheriff's Department. If you recognize any of the items,
or know who has them or where they might be found, please contact Deputy

>1. Rabbit Stick - The Rabbit stick is made of pale gray oak wood and is
approximately 200 years old. The rabbit stick is 27 inches by 3 inches by
3/4 inches. Rabbit fur is attached to each end. The wood has carvings on
it. One source says that there are only two such rabbit sticks in the
United States.

>2. Bible - The bible was brought to California from Spain in the late
1700's. It is black with gold letters and is 9 inches by 5 1/2 inches by 2
inches. It is unknown at this time if the bible was written in Spanish or
Latin.

>3. Priest's Stole - The stole, approximately 8 feet long, is made of white
cloth with silver thread. It too is 200 years old and was brought to the
Chapel by the founding priest.
