Since Tom Langhorne introduced himself, I guess I should too. My name is
Jeff Wanser, and I'm a librarian (reference, government documents) at Hiram
College in Ohio. I also teach anthropology courses part time here, helping
to keep a minor alive in the Soc/Anthro dept, since I am the only anthro
person on campus. I received my B.A. in anthro from Adelphi University, and
my M.A. in anthro from SUNY-Binghamton. After doing some contract/temporary
work in the field, I side-stepped into librarianship (MLS, Pittsburgh), and
I've been here ever since. I've been trying to straddle both professions in
a variety of ways--mostly in the form of book reviewing and bibliography--
and intend to do more. I'd like to get out and do more field work, but this
12 month contract is a ball and chain at times. My interests in historical
archaeology range widely, from the colonial to the industrial, and I am
currently (but slowly) working on a gravestone project in Northeastern Ohio.
