Tony's description sounds good. I'm pretty certain that 'liquid
paraffin' is _not_ kerosene. In Britain I think we are too liberal
with the term 'paraffin', it's confusing enough for us, never mind
the language barrier :-).
 
It's described in my dictionary as "an intestinal lubricant and
laxative", It's colourless and a rather viscous oily consistency.
Try describing that to a pharmacist and see if you get a reaction.
