        You might post your question to the archivists lists serve at
[log in to unmask]  They would know how to convert microfilm
to digitial images; at the moment this is not so popular with archivists
because microfilm, properly cared for, will last 100 to 200 years.  The
lifespan of this new digital stuff is less than 50 years.
