Yellow "Dutch" bricks have been recovered from a number of sites in
Virginia, from early 17th c as well as later 17th-c. sites. They
continued to be used in some places as hearth firebricks well into
the 18th c. Al Luckenbach just gave a paper at the Middle Atlantic
Archaeology Conference last week called "follow the yellow-brick
road..." I don't think he's on the net, but he did have some good
info on yellow Dutch bricks in Delaware.
