The only experience I have had with pierced nipples was one young
mother who removed her ring while lactating. It dripped constantly
and had a nice flow when she had a let down. She wore washable pads
and never had an infection or plugged duct of any type. No skin ever
grew over the hole and she put her ring back in after her baby weaned
at 15 or 16 months. She also had a lovely tatoo on her breast which
didn't interfere with her nursing either.
