I think what we have here is a confusion of terms. The gizzard as I understand i
t
is part of the stomach and edible. The craw or crop of the bird is where the
gravel, sherds or what have you is deposited. It helps prepare the seeds, grains
etc. for further digestion down the road, so to speak. I may have been away
from the farm to long. :--)
