The Institute for Minnesota Archaeology (IMA) anticipates openings for
Archaeological Field Technicians and Archaeological Field Supervisors for
Public Archaeology Programs for the 1997 Field Season.
 
IMA anticipates hiring technicians and supervisors for a variety of
public archaeology programs beginning in May and running through the Fall
of 1997.
 
Archaeological Field Technician Qualifications:  B.A. in Anthropology,
Archaeology, History, or closely related field.  Field School or
commensurate experience required.  Must have demonstrated ability and
enjoyment in dealing with people in general; school children, adult
volunteers, and teachers specifically.  Experience in Public Archaeology
and/or with historic archaeological sites are definite assets.  Pay Scale
Ranges from $9:00 to $12.00 per hour based on experience.
 
Archaeological Field Supervisor Qualifications:  M.A. in Anthropology,
Archaeology, History or closely related field.  Minimum of five years
field experience; supervisory experience preferred.  Familiarity with
19th and early 20th century artifacts essential.  Must have demonstrated
ability and enjoyment in dealing with people in general; school children,
adult volunteers, and teachers specifically.  Experience in Public
Archaeology and/or with historic archaeological sites are definite
assets.  Pay Scale Ranges from $12.00 per hour and up based on experience.
