Today, the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA) is pleased to
announce that the ACRA-L mailing list has risen from the ashes.
For those of you unfamiliar with ACRA-L, it was and is a mailing list
devoted to the discussion of the business of doing cultural resource
management (CRM). In the past, its subscribers were from the private
sector, governmental agencies, and academia. Short of flaming and
blatantly off topic postings, there are none of the restrictions imposed by
some government lists, everyone is invited to join. In fact, the majority
of subscribers were not even ACRA members before our recent (and
thankfully, temporary) demise. Topics of discussion ranged from what is
wrong with SHPOs and federal agencies to what is wrong with private sector
consultants, to discussion of setting up a national meeting to rewrite
Section 106 and how we approach compliance archaeology in this country.
We hope you will join us for always exciting (and blunt) discussions.
