One way to slow down the airflow is to use a larger diameter hose going
into the collection box. To increase vacuum gradually back to the strenght
needed to suck the bees use a reduction that can be adjusted at the nozzel.
 
the smaller the opening the stronger the the vacuum at the nozzel. After
the bees enter the larger diameter section the speed of the air will slow
down.
