Arly's story of going to bat for the breastfeeding highway flagger
reminded me of when my daughter was a few months old and we went to visit
my brother who was at an army basic training base. For the first feeding,
I nursed her in the car and almost expired from the heat. The second
feeding, I asked for the women's shower room, envisoning a lovely cool
waterfall effect. Welllll, after wading through the puddles (so much for
that waterfall effect) and settling down on an only slightly-splintered
bench, in walked a (male) soldier, gave us a very startled glance, did a
smart about-face (to the Israeli army's credit), and fled. Poor kid.
Goodness, that was 22 years ago.....! Judy K. in Israel
