                 *1995 UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY FIELD SCHOOL*
 
 
The University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky is conducting a field school
in historical and prehistoric archaeology.  It is an 8 week session for six
credit hours  June 8th - August 3rd 1995.  Learn archaeological survey,
testing, and excavation methods, as well as basic laboratory techniques.  This
is an oppurtunity to get wide exposure to the many aspect of archaeology.  Site
that will be explored include: An historic 19th century Shaker Village, A
stratified prehistoric rockshelter in Cumberland County, Historic McConnell
Springs in Lexington, and Urban archaeology near the old state capitol in
Frankfort.  Instructors for  the field school will be Kim McBride, Richard
Jefferies, and Leon Lane.  Fees are reasonable and the schedule is flexible.
