I was up at the Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI a month or so ago and there
was some exhibits that included Jones Island in Milwaukee.  It sounded
interesting...as it was one of the early settlement areas for many of the
fisher-folk of the Milwaukee area.
 
Can anyone suggest some literature that discusses the history of the area
or any archaeology that's been done there?....and YES, I have checked my
own library here and haven't found much (probably looking in the wrong
places!).
