Netherlands Expertise Centre for Tropical Apicultural
Resources (NECTAR) in cooperation with Utrecht University, organises:
NECTAR
SYMPOSIUM ON
HARVEST, COMPOSITION, PROCESSING, STORAGE AND MARKETING OF HONEY
IN TROPICAL APICULTURAL SYSTEMS
Location: International Congress Centre Utrecht (Koninklijke Nederlandse
Jaarbeurs), Beatrix Gebouw, Jaarbeursplein, Utrecht, The Netherlands,
Date: Monday 18 December 1995, starting at 08:30.
The objective of the NECTAR symposium on tropical honey, to be held in
Utrecht at 18 December 1995, is to bring together existing information on
major aspects of honey production in tropical beekeeping. We would like to
deal specifically with harvest, processing, quality control, and marketing.
NECTAR has realised that there is little information available about these
aspects of tropical apiculture.
This NECTAR activity should be a contribution to the development of
tropical apiculture. The information brought together by this meeting
should be useful for, and be made available to, people working in the
practical field of tropical beekeeping. It is particularly important that
the local beekeepers can benefit from this. NECTAR would like to invite as
participants mainly persons and institutions involved in (the development
of ) tropical apiculture and, if possible, specialists in different fields
related to tropical honey. Honey importers and distributors are also
welcome.
The programme of the meeting will consist of the presentation of technical
papers by a number of specialists on specific technical topics, with
discussion. It is an objective of the event that these contributions are
published afterwards and that this book serves as a compilation of the
aspects concerning tropical honey as mentioned above.
Ebtrtsance fee: NLG. 45, including coffee. This entrance fee
to be paid upon arrival at the Conference Centre.
Arrangements for housing and meals are made by the participants themselves.
Utrecht has many good and medium-priced hotels (Holyday Inn and Scandic
