Thank you, Larry. Yes, the problem at the San Diego Presidio is that the sand
has only been found under one tile floor in one room of at least six rooms
with tile floors. Leveling would not have been the problem, but drainage might
have been.
Mike, believe it or not, ASU's architecture library has a copy of the 1736
Neve's work. I have ordered a copy of the facsimile as well, since the 1736
copy is in special collections and doesn't circulate.
Jack is planning to give HISTARCH an update on the San Diego Presidio dig
since he is back from the field this week. He will also be attending SHA, so
if people have specific questions, you can ask him there.
