I have seen this same topic discusses on C18-L (eighteenth century discussion)
and Aegeanet (pre-Classical Aegean), the latter which was wide-ranging and
quite comprehensive. There seemed to be two kinds of information that are
most commonly "lifted" from the net: ideas and the latest field research.
While it might be most rigorous to wait for the San Diego Presideo reports
to be published in peer-review. That could take some time, some sites, as
you know, years. Half of what appears on Aegeanet is preliminary announcements
of sites not yet published. While it is always a good idea to get back with
whomever posted to confirm that what they have said is accurate, why not
mention the lastest information (with proper citation) in your research when
you have it availible.
