I would just like to add to Dan Mouer's comment about nails and time lag at
the turn of the 19th c.  Nails will probably date from the beginning of the
assemblage rather than the end so an 1810 to 1830 occupation might look the
same as a 1790 to 1815 occupation especially if the people were poor and did
not repair their structures.
