One of my students is interested in the anthropology and archaeology of
river towns especially in South Georgia. Does anyone have suggestions
for him? References that may be useful? I'm not certain that data from
large rivers would be directly applicable but information that pertains
to the Mississippi, for example, could be used as a model.

Thanks
