I don't recall seeing the term 'whiteware'. Is it used to mean 'ceramics'?
Is whiteware generally used in contrast to silverware?

Whiteware: large electrical items, found in late 20th kitchens, e.g.
fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble drier. Possibly also
microwave.
