On 13.8.96, Anita Cohen-Williams asked:
>NRMA is the Australian equivalent of our AAA here in the U.S. Does anyone
>know what the initials stand for?

NRMA stands for National Road Motorists Association. However, despite the
word "National", the NRMA is not an Australia-wide body, but the
association for the state of New South Wales. There are similar
organisations in the other states as well: RAA, RACV, RACQ, etc. There is
a national peak organisation called the AAA: Australian Automobile
Association.
