The Michael C. Carlos Museum, Emory University and the LAMAR Institute, Inc.
are pleased to offer, "Archaeology in the Classroom:  A Workshop for
Teachers" at Emory University.  This course designed for elementary, middle,
and high school teachers will introduce participants to innovative methods of
teaching about Georgia's past.  The course combines lectures, hands-on
activities, demonstrations, gallery study, and a field trip to Ocmulgee
National Monument.  The course will be led by Rita Folse Elliott.  Visiting
lecturers include professional archaeologists and museum professionals.  The
course offers three SDU credits towards certification renewal.  Fees pay for
all workshop activities, field trip, books, and supplies.
Course date:  Monday, June 19 through June 23, 1995
Fees:  $125 for non-Members of Carlos Museum, $100 for Members
