Can anyone start me off with some readings about the developing
technology of garbage collection for a project I am beginning?
I am interested more in the origins of collection truck/wagons
and their social context, and in the emergence of high-powered
in situ waste processing on these vehicles, than in methods of
treatment, landfill controversies, etc. I would also be keen
to know about (if there are any) oral histories of garbage
truck workers.

Thanks,

Jeff Finlay
