I rather think these lists are like the salons of the eighteenth century.
We are the assembled guests in the forum of Ms Cohen-Williams, her salon
if you will.  It appears to me that she does a considerable amount of work
to make this list possible.  Anyone else, including Mr Johnson can also
set out beverages and announce his invitation to like-minded conversants,
and set up his own listserv.  As such our hostess ought to be able to
dis-invite trouble makers.
