Doug, I'm much interested in the possible adverse effects that
introduced bees may have on indigenous life, especially bees. I've
established the lucerne leafcutting bee and the alkali bee here in
New Zealand with no apparent detrimental effects, and last century
the honey bee and four species of bumble bee were imported, again
with no obvious detrimental effects to our wild life.
Could you elaborate please on the negative side effects you mentioned
that have resulted from the importation of Osmia cornifrons to the
United States?
