I am looking for additional information & sources on brass buttons containing
the following partial, lettering and markings:

"U.S.A."
"Treble Gilt/Standard Colour/Wreath"
"??? Frit/Star [left]/Star [right]/Standard"
"Orange"

I believe these lettering & markings on stamped brass (gilt) buttons was
first used around the 1820s and I believe the buttons with "Treble",
"Standard Colour" and "Orange" are Enlglish in origin although "Golden Age"
buttons produced ca. 1810-1850 by American manufacturers contain quality
marks of "Rich Orange", "Extra Gilt", etc.

The name of a manufacturer on one of the buttons exhibiting these types of
marks is too worn to read. Can anybody assist with either additional
information and/or references?
