Does anybody have any knowledge on the inner-workings of the National
Archives & Records Administration. I sent a request using NATF form 80 for a
search and copy of military records on a Revolutionary War soldier on Feb 6,
1995. It was returned on Mar 17, 1995, with a new NATF form 80 and
resubmitted to: National Archives Trust Fund, P.O. Box 100221, Atlanta, GA
30384-0221. I haven't received a confirmation that the request was received
nor any indications of the availability of the records. My question is this:
Is it too early to expect an answer? Does the NATF have many requests and a
small staff that they would be backed-up in sending copies of the records or
a reply that no records are available? Has anyone sent a request to the
Atlanta address? I recall having sent a request to the NATF address in
Washington, DC, some years ago and received microfilm copies of records and
it only took approximately six weeks. Can anyone shed some light on this
matter?
