I am interested in conducting research on the control of tracheal mites.
In particular, I have heard about painting hives black or some other dark color
as a means of controlling tracheal mites. I am very interested in any
references that are available. Recently, Isaw a research note in§
"Plants and Gardens News". It referred to the control of tracheal mites
with painted hives. It also referenced another article which I can't find
-- Dark-Colored Hives Help Protect Bees..., "Quarterly Report of Selected
Research Projects", July 1 - Sept. 30, 1993, 11. This article nor journal is
available in my library. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
---- Many Thanks! Kerv Hyland
