This is almost certainly bloom on the wax cappings. Bloom is a poorly
understood exudation that comes out of beeswax with time and cooler
temperatures. It is very common on capped frames of honey that have sat in
abandoned hives. It is odorless and tasteless and wipes off with a cloth.
It should not affect the honey at all.
