Someone who knows more than I do about solitary bees (and that casts a very
wide net) might be able to ID this bee that showed up at my window of our
Hotel in the foothills directly above Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego on 1/3/2024.
It buzzed around the perimeter of window frame opening as if it were looking
for a nest hole, so I'll guess it was a solitary bee, but more than that, I
dunno.
All black, about the same size as a honey bee, and very long antennae.
Might be of interest to someone.
